The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team and play a key role in driving strategic commercial outcomes across the Tait Group.
Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, this role has a strong focus on advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis to support high-quality commercial decision-making. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust financial models, stress-testing assumptions, evaluating multiple business scenarios, and providing clear insights into risk, margin, profitability, and long-term value creation.
You will provide critical financial insights that enable informed decision-making and support sustainable business performance. Through detailed modelling, forecasting, and commercial analysis, you will translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations that influence strategic direction across the organisation.
In this role, you will ensure projects are grounded in robust financial analysis, support accurate budgeting and forecasting, and partner with stakeholders to optimise profitability, manage risk, and support strategic growth.
This role is well suited to an ambitious finance professional who is motivated by growth and development, enjoys working with complex financial data, and is eager to further build their commercial capability within a global organisation.
Based at our Christchurch Head Office, this is a permanent , full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday , with a salary range of $100,000-$120,000 per annum.
The duties of the role will include
Financial Analysis & Insights: Deliver accurate and timely financial analysis, including variance, margin, and profitability analysis.
Provide actionable insights that support both strategic and operational decision-making.
Project Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning : Lead or support the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and business cases.
Ensure financial plans align with business objectives and market conditions.
Reporting & Performance Management: Prepare and deliver monthly performance reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
Highlight key trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
Commercial Strategy Support : Partner with business units to evaluate pricing strategies, commercial opportunities, and investment decisions.
Develop and maintain detailed financial models and undertake comprehensive scenario analysis to assess risk, sensitivity, and commercial viability of strategic initiatives.
Data & Information Management: Gather, validate, and maintain financial and operational data from multiple systems and sources.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy for reporting and analysis.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Present complex financial information in a clear, business-focused manner.
Risk & Compliance : Identify financial risks and ensure adherence to policies, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal control and audit processes.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong commercial and financial acumen, sound analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate insights with clarity and impact. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, collaboration, and commercial awareness are key.
You will be ambitious, career-focused, and motivated to grow and develop within a commercially driven environment.
You will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Law.
At least 3-5 years' post-graduate experience in a commercial finance, corporate finance, or analytical role.
Strong hands-on experience in advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis, including building models from first principles and performing sensitivity and risk analysis.
Demonstrated experience delivering business value through strategic initiatives.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to challenge and influence constructively.
