KidsCan is a passionate not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating positive change for children across Aotearoa. With 1 in 6 children living in poverty, we ensure they have access to essentials like nutritious food, warm jackets, and sturdy shoes—empowering them to fully participate in school and early childhood education and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role

KidsCan is seeking an experienced Philanthropy Manager to drive sustainable growth in their high-value giving programmes.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, Partnerships and Individual Giving, the Philanthropy Manager will develop strategies for donor acquisition, cultivation and retention across major gifts, trusts and foundations and gifts in wills with a focus on achieving income growth through strategic planning, relationship management, and exceptional stewardship.

This role manages the Trust and Foundations Executive and works collaboratively with senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation to embed a strong culture of philanthropy.

You will need the following

  • Senior-level experience and demonstrated capability in developing and implementing effective strategies for major gifts, gifts in wills and trusts and foundations programmes
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compelling proposals and impact reporting
  • Extensive experience in building and stewarding long-term relationships with key philanthropic stakeholders
  • Ability to act as a senior ambassador for KidsCan, embedding a strong culture of philanthropy
