Non-production Environment Lead

Te Tūranga | About the Role

We're looking for a Non-Production Environment Lead to take ownership of how our non-production environments are managed, optimised, and utilised across Silver Fern Farms.

Reporting to the Quality Engineering Practice Manager, you'll play a critical role in enabling successful project delivery by ensuring environments are available, fit-for-purpose, and aligned to business and testing needs.

Working across delivery teams, infrastructure, architecture, application support, and external partners, you'll provide leadership, visibility, and governance over the environments that underpin our technology transformation programmes and ongoing operational delivery.

This two-year fixed-term role has been created to support our technology transformation and delivery activity across Silver Fern Farms, ensuring our non-production environments enable successful project outcomes while we run a large number of concurrent projects that require well-managed non-production environments.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Defining and driving the strategy, governance, and roadmap for non-production environments.
• Managing environment planning, provisioning, scheduling, and utilisation.
• Coordinating environment allocation across projects and business-as-usual activities.
• Providing visibility of environment availability, usage, and constraints.
• Partnering with delivery teams to support quality testing and successful delivery outcomes.
• Managing environment-related risks, issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring environments are secure, stable, and aligned with production where required.

We're Looking For Someone Who Brings

• Experience managing, or capability to manage, non-production environments within our complex delivery environments
• Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles, testing practices, and environment management.
• The ability to work effectively across technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Proven planning, coordination, and stakeholder management capability.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on delivery outcomes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
