Grocery/Warehouse Assistant

We’re Hiring: Grocery/Warehouse Assistants (4 Positions)

Location: Takanini, Auckland

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour

Hours: Minimum 30 hours | Up to 55 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for reliable and physically fit individuals to join our growing Indian supermarket team in Takanini. This is a hands-on role combining both grocery floor and warehouse responsibilities.

Your day-to-day duties will include receiving and unloading stock, organising and replenishing shelves, picking and packing orders, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented store and storage area. You will also assist customers when required and ensure products are handled with care.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading deliveries (manual handling and/or forklift)
• Stocking shelves and ensuring product availability on the shop floor
• Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently
• Organising and maintaining warehouse and storage areas
• Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control
• Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health & safety standards
• Providing basic customer assistance when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg
• Good communication and basic written skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Flexible and willing to work rostered shifts
• Understanding of Indian grocery products or prior supermarket experience is an advantage
• Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, warehousing, or pick-packing, OR a Level 2 qualification
• Forklift licence is preferred but not essential
• Positive attitude with a strong “can-do” approach

Work Schedule

• Availability to work weekends and public holidays is essential
• Shift options:
  • Early Morning: 4:00am – 9:00am
  • Night Shift: 8:00pm – 1:00am
• Roster: Tuesday to Sunday
