We are now seeking a Strategy Analyst to join our Auckland-based team in a newly created, high-impact role.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Strategy, this role sits at the centre of ZIWI’s strategic decision-making. You will play a critical role in shaping how the business grows, competes, and allocates resources globally. This is a high-exposure position suited to a commercially minded analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to build deep strategic capability.
You will work across the full strategy lifecycle — from rigorous analysis and financial modelling through to synthesising insights and delivering board-level materials — while also owning the execution of key strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis & Insight
- Conduct in-depth market, competitor, and consumer analysis
- Develop robust financial models to evaluate growth opportunities and investment decisions
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Monitor global market trends and identify strategic implications
- Prepare high-quality, board-ready presentations
Project Management & Execution
- Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects from scoping through to execution
- Define objectives, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
- Drive cross-functional alignment and hold teams accountable to outcomes
- Manage multiple workstreams, proactively resolving risks and blockers
- Facilitate workshops and decision-making forums with senior leaders
Strategic Planning & Business Performance
- Support the annual strategic planning cycle and development of long-term roadmaps
- Contribute to business cases across market entry, product innovation, and M&A
- Translate strategy into actionable implementation plans with measurable outcomes
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations
- Communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders and external stakeholders
- Support engagement with private equity partners on reporting and analysis
About You
You are a sharp, structured thinker with a strong foundation in consulting and a proven ability to deliver results. You combine analytical rigour with commercial insight and are comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic environment.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or related field
- 1–4 years’ experience in management consulting
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects end-to-end
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Strong PowerPoint and storytelling skills
- Excellent problem-solving and project management abilities
Desirable
- Experience in FMCG, retail, or consumer goods
- Exposure to private equity environments
- Strong communication skills and pragmatic use of strategic frameworks
