We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping how data drives decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic outcomes across the business.

This is a newly created permanent opportunity replacing a key contractor role, and offers the chance to embed long-term capability, ownership, and impact within our Data Team.

Te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of business and data delivery, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable data requirements and ensuring high-quality reporting and analytics outcomes.

You’ll provide continuity across key data initiatives while strengthening how we plan, prioritise and deliver value through data.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the analysis, design and delivery of data products
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and opportunities
  • Translating business needs into clear, structured data and reporting requirements
  • Supporting the prioritisation and delivery of analytics and reporting initiatives
  • Acting as a key bridge between business users and technical delivery teams
  • Ensuring continuity and quality across existing reporting and analytics products
  • Contributing to ongoing improvement in data practices, governance, and delivery

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

You’re an experienced data professional who combines technical understanding with strong business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.

We’re looking for someone who can operate at a senior level and bring:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, business analysis, or analytics delivery roles
  • Ability to design data models (logical, physical and dimensional) to ensure enterprise data model alignment and meet reporting requirements
  • Solid knowledge of Data Management best practice and ability to implement them in the design of data solutions
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into data solutions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working across analytics, reporting, or data platforms
  • A structured approach to requirements gathering, prioritisation, and delivery
  • Confidence working in environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

Experience with modern data platforms (e.g. cloud, Databricks, or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
