Mō te Tūranga | About the role
Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) is responsible for the design, maintenance and implementation of ASB's Financial Crime Compliance Programmes. FCC at ASB considers the Financial Crime impacts on our customers, and avails tooling that can be created to protect them.
As a Software Consultant at ASB, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the design and delivery of complex software solutions across our platforms. This is a senior individual contributor role (Level 4) that blends deep technical expertise with solution architecture, platform ownership, and cross-squad collaboration.
You'll work closely with engineers, product owners, and architects to design scalable, secure, and reliable systems. Whether you're building SDKs, maintaining event brokers, or mentoring engineers, your work will directly influence the quality and resilience of our technology stack.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys coaching others, and wants to drive technical excellence without formal people leadership responsibilities
Ō Pūkenga | About you
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in building capabilities using Pega
- Deep expertise in Pega CLM/KYC Framework, including case types, workflows, data models, integrations, and UI components.
- In-depth understanding of CLM standards and alignment with out-of-the-box framework capabilities.
- Experience with Pega Infinity (24.x or later), adhering to Pega guardrails and enterprise development standards.
- Familiarity with Pega Diagnostic Center (PDC) for monitoring, alerting, and system analysis.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, with experience in Pega Cloud or equivalent cloud-based platforms.
- Experience designing and developing highly scalable, enterprise-grade, and integrated applications.
- Solid understanding of integration principles, including REST/SOAP services, event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka), and enterprise connectors.
- Ability to leverage multiple technology stacks to solve complex business problems effectively.
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices, with a focus on secure, compliant, and automated delivery pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to deployment and support.
- Experience in building high-performing, scalable, and resilient solutions with a focus on performance and availability.
- Continuous improvement mindset to enhance engineering practices, processes, and system scalability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor engineers, promoting best practices and capability uplift.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.
- Confidence in communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, business-aligned solutions.
- Strong understanding and application of Pega development and deployment best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and solution-oriented approach.
