Fast Food Cook

Excellent opportunity for a Fast Food Cook to join BOTTOMS UP LIMITED, trading as Allenton Convenience & Lotto, a successful and busy convenience store and takeaway outlet based in Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand, and become part of our friendly and dedicated team. We pride ourselves on serving quality takeaway meals, snacks, and beverages while delivering excellent customer service to our local community.

Job Responsibilities

• Taking and serving food and beverage orders for customers.

• Receiving payments from customers and operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.

• Washing, cutting, measuring, and mixing food ingredients for cooking.

• Operating cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, microwaves, deep fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

• Preparing food accurately and efficiently according to customer orders and company recipes.

• Ensuring all food orders are presented neatly and meet the business's quality and presentation standards.

• Assisting with food preparation, portioning, wrapping, and packaging takeaway meals.

• Cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, kitchen equipment, and utensils.

• Ordering, receiving, checking, and storing food ingredients and kitchen supplies.

• Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the Store Manager.

• Assisting with the preparation of burgers, chips, fried chicken, hot food, and other takeaway menu items.

• Following food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures at all times.

• Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested by the Store Manager.

Requirements for the Job

• Minimum Level 1 qualification.

• Previous work experience is not required; full training will be provided.

• Ability to follow food safety and hygiene standards.

• Must be reliable, punctual, hardworking, and a good team player.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Able to work weekends and public holidays.

• Able to work early mornings, evenings, and flexible shifts as required.

Hours of Work: Minimum 32 hours per week

Job Type: Permanent Full-time

Pay Rate: $24.00 – $25.00 per hour
