Role Overview
Our client is seeking a commercially savvy and technically fluent Business Development professional to drive adoption and new sales for digital acceptance products, including Click to Pay, Network Tokenisation,and Authentication.
This role will focus on managing and expanding both new and existing merchant relationships, while generating and qualifying leads across the New Zealand market.
Click to Pay (C2P) is globally gaining momentum, transforming digital commerce for banks, fintechs, payment service providers, and merchants by delivering enhanced security, simplicity, and speed-similar to the contactless experience.
Based in Auckland CBD near Viaduct Harbour, the office offers a modern, tech-driven environment with close proximity to public transport, cafes, restaurants, and gyms. The organisation operates with a flat structure, enabling strong exposure to senior stakeholders and opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities
- Drive new product business development by engaging potential customers and managing opportunities through the full sales pipeline to close
- Identify and qualify potential merchants through research, networking, and outreach
- Generate leads and schedule meetings for broader sales teams
- Collaborate with cross-market teams to share insights and best practices
- Progress deals through the pipeline and support account teams to maximise client adoption of digital payment solutions
- Maintain a structured and up-to-date pipeline of opportunities
- Track KPIs and provide regular reporting on performance and pipeline health
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to commercial execution
About You
- 5+ years' experience in sales or business development (ideally within payments, retail, or acquiring)
- Established relationships with New Zealand retailers are highly advantageous
- Self-motivated with the ability to build senior stakeholder relationships quickly
- Strong technical presales capability with a solid understanding of payments ecosystems
- Able to manage multiple opportunities at varying stages of the sales cycle
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
- Willingness to travel across New Zealand as required
