We’re looking for an experienced Surveyor to join our Structures team, supporting the delivery of a major infrastructure upgrade supporting New Zealand’s Cook Strait connection. This complex marine project includes construction of a new wharf, linkspan, and supporting infrastructure to enable new rail-enabled ferries - delivered while maintaining live port operations. Set in the Marlborough Sounds, you’ll be part of a project that is both technically challenging and nationally significant.

The opportunity

You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, high-quality surveying across site operations - supporting everything from set-out to as-built data, while working closely with project teams. Based in Picton, this is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in getting the details right.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate set out and surveying services across complex projects
• Manage survey control, field data collection and reporting
• Provide survey data to support design, variations and construction delivery
• Maintain survey documentation, drawings and models (Civil 3D / AutoCAD)
• Support machine control systems and site teams
• Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to team capability
• Ensure all works meet quality, safety and project requirements

What you’ll bring

• Surveying qualification and minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil construction
• Strong understanding of survey methodologies and construction practices
• Experience with Civil 3D / AutoCAD and digital survey tools
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Ability to read plans, manage data and communicate clearly on-site
• Full NZ Driver’s Licence
