At the heart is our purpose. Taking care of tomorrow: connecting people and place today. This pushes us to do all we can to create a better future for our people, our communities, and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity

Our teams at Mercury make a real difference to Aotearoa New Zealand by doing new and exciting things with energy, and our Customer business is entering an important next stage of growth and transformation.

As we continue to evolve, we’ve created a number of new roles to strengthen the way our Customer teams are set up for the future. These roles will support clearer accountability, stronger commercial ownership and better alignment across our channels, helping us stay efficient, customer-focused and future-fit.

At Mercury, our Brand & Sponsorship team is a busy, high-output crew doing meaningful work — and we're looking for a Brand Executive to be the operational backbone that keeps it all moving.

This is a junior, entry-level role designed for a motivated early-career marketer who wants to learn what it takes to run a brand function from the inside. You'll support the Senior Brand Manager, Social Lead, Sponsorship and Activations Manager, and Brand Operations Manager across the day-to-day — from campaign coordination and stakeholder comms to digital content updates and agency liaison. If you're organised, digitally savvy, and genuinely curious about how great brands are built, this is a brilliant place to start.

Tāu e mahi ai | What you'll be doing:

  • Providing broad day-to-day support across the Brand & Sponsorship team — keeping work moving, meetings organised, and the team well-coordinated
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholder communications, including preparing packs, coordinating sign-offs, and helping keep the right people informed at the right time
  • Assisting with reporting across brand and campaign activity — compiling data, formatting reports, and ensuring insights are clearly presented
  • Managing purchase orders and processing supplier invoices in line with Mercury's financial policies, and maintaining accurate budget trackers for the team
  • Updating and maintaining Mercury's website brand content using the CMS — you're digitally native and comfortable picking up new platforms quickly
  • Supporting digital marketing activity and agency coordination, helping to track briefs, revisions, and deliverables across creative and production partners
  • Assisting with campaign coordination tasks including timelines, asset management, approval workflows, and brand consistency checks

Tāu ka kawe mai | What you'll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline
  • 1–2 years' experience in a marketing, brand, communications, or relevant administrative role either within a creative or media agency or inhouse — internship or graduate experience is welcome
  • Digitally native — comfortable with CMS platforms, social media, and digital marketing tools, and quick to pick up new systems
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail — you can juggle multiple tasks and deliver accurate work to deadline
  • Clear and confident written communication skills, with an ability to adapt tone for different audiences and contexts
  • Comfortable working with numbers — able to manage budget spreadsheets, track spend, and pull together clear reporting
  • A collaborative, positive working style — you take ownership, ask good questions, and bring energy and initiative to everything you do

He aha te pai o te hono mai? | Why join us?

  • Additional 5 days leave per annum (MyDays)
  • $400 one off tax-free payment towards setting up your home office
  • A diverse workplace where your unique abilities and talents will be recognised and encouraged
  • Annual salary reviews with excellent parental leave policy, with the option to purchase additional leave
  • The opportunities, career paths and facilities associated with working for one of New Zealand's largest multi-utility providers
  • Flexible working policy - The autonomy and trust to work flexibly from our purpose-built premises and from home, recognising the value of this flexibility in the modern world
  • Discounted health insurance and free life and income insurance
  • Excellent well-being programme including up to $100 annual check ups and confidential assistance programme
  • Gender affirmation leave and supportive bereavement leave to be taken when you lose anyone close to you, including your pet
