At Waipuna Hospice, we’re all about delivering compassionate end-of-life care across the Western Bay of Plenty. Our goal is to deliver a responsive, compassionate, and person-centred care to individuals living with life-limiting illnesses, which is often in their homes. We also have a welcoming inpatient unit in Te Puna for those who need extra support.

About The Job

This is a key role that drives organisational effectiveness, capability, and culture across Waipuna Hospice. You’ll lead the design and delivery of initiatives that strengthen leadership, embed our values, enhance engagement, and support sustainable performance.

Working closely with senior leaders and the People & Culture team, you will:

  • Champion and embed a strong, values-led organisational culture
  • Develop leadership frameworks and build capability for current and future leaders
  • Design and implement an integrated learning and development strategy
  • Lead organisational change initiatives and support leaders through transformation
  • Use data and insights to monitor engagement, capability, and culture trends
  • Shape initiatives that enhance wellbeing, inclusion, and organisational effectiveness

This is a role where you’ll influence at every level and see the real impact of your work every day

About You

You’re an experienced OD practitioner who combines strategy with practical delivery. You’re equally comfortable shaping frameworks, coaching leaders, and rolling up your sleeves to make things happen.

You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and at least 5+ years’ experience in organisational development or HR with a strong OD focus
  • A proven track record designing and delivering high-impact culture and capability initiatives
  • Strong experience in leadership development and organisational change
  • The ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior leaders
  • A data-informed, systems-thinking approach to improving organisational performance
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a collaborative style
  • A genuine alignment with our values and a passion for making a difference
