We’re looking for a Resource Management Administration Officer to join our Consents & Compliance team and play a vital role in supporting Marlborough’s regulatory functions. In this position, you’ll provide essential administrative support to Resource Consent staff, helping ensure Council meets its obligations under the Resource Management Act (RMA) within statutory timeframes.

Your responsibilities will include

Process and manage resource consent applications, including data entry and allocation

Maintain and update the ReCApp database and related systems

Administer consent renewals and communicate with consent holders

Support the notification process, liaising with planners, stakeholders and the community

Prepare, check and issue decision documents within required timeframes

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance

Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives

We’re seeking someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys working collaboratively.

This role requires someone with

Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Knowledge of the Resource Management Act or local government processes

Experience working within a regulatory or compliance environment

Customer-focused approach and the ability to communicate effectively

Confidence working with databases and digital systems

The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

A professional, diplomatic approach when dealing with sensitive or complex matters
