City Growth and Advisory services is a multidisciplinary team of heritage, urban design, biodiversity and infrastructure professionals. The team works across various different Council departments and engages with land owners, building owners, and developers amongst other members of the community. The team contribute to the planning and consenting functions of Council, deliver streetscape upgrade projects, fulfil action plans administer heritage and biodiversity funding. The Team also assesses infrastructure requirements for small, medium and large Subdivisions across Dunedin. The opportunity We have an exciting career opportunity for a well-established, experienced ecologist/biodiversity specialist to join our team. Ideally you will have: A tertiary degree in Ecology or related discipline Proven ability to engage with land-owners, mana whenua, and local interest groups. Provide expert advice in the areas of biodiversity and ecological restoration. Understand legislation, and upcoming changes, relating to indigenous biodiversity protection. Developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate technical information. As the sole Biodiversity Advisor, you will need to possess good time and workload management skills. What we offer 12 month, fixed term Supportive team environment.
