We're looking for a Dispatch Manager to lead our North Island Transport Dispatch team. In this role, you'll oversee day-to-day dispatch operations, lead a high-performing team, and work closely with the Head of Transport to drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of dispatchers.
- Oversee daily transport scheduling, driver allocation, and fleet utilisation.
- Ensure freight is dispatched safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with drivers, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Manage delivery issues, service disruptions, and customer escalations.
- Support compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and Health & Safety standards.
- Contribute to operational planning, KPI performance, and commercial outcomes.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years' experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Previous leadership experience managing dispatch or transport teams.
- Strong knowledge of transport scheduling, fleet operations, and driver management.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and supporting their team.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office.
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or a related field is highly regarded.
