The role of our Asphalt Paving Supervisor is a critical part of our successful Southern Surfacing team based in Christchurch. This is your chance to be in a leadership role as part of a nationally recognised top surfacing operation, working with the best gear, and an established competent and capable delivery team.
Our surfacing teams work across the South Island, however most of our work is based in the Canterbury region, working out of our Hornby yard. We have a long-term secured workload, so job security is assured.
The role
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise and deliver Asphalt Paving projects as part of a wider surfacing delivery team, with a focus on completing works on time, within budget and to the specifications and satisfaction of our clients.
This involves but is not limited to managing staff onsite, supervision and co-ordination of Asphalt Paving resources, including suppliers and subcontractors.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who has a great attitude, strong work ethic and wants to contribute and refine their skills as part of our supportive surfacing team.
Key requirements for the Asphalt Paving Supervisor role are;
- Minimum 10 years' surfacing experience would be ideal.
- Knowledge and understanding of Asphalt Paving Plant
- Excellent staff leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills with clients on the job.
- Competence in coordinating and planning.
- Solid computer skills.
- Previous frontline management interfacing with clients and stakeholders.
- Can help train and progress staff within the team.
- Flexibility to work nightshift and travel as required
- A can-do attitude.
We need someone who has tenacity, and a true passion for getting the black stuff on the ground. A willingness to be flexible regards work hours and some travel is also needed. We will also want someone who is willing to have a laugh - we enjoy having fun at work as part of the wider HEB Team.
