Mō te tūranga | About the role
As Mercury's Customer business enters its next stage of growth and transformation, we've created the Senior Insights & Partnerships Lead to shape where Mercury's retail portfolio goes next - turning customer truth, research and market insight into the innovation pipeline and opportunities that build the next commercial layer.
You’ll own the retail innovation roadmap and lead the foundational research and segmentation programme - building capability and lifting insight-led decision-making across the business. You'll incubate new opportunities to commercial readiness, own Mercury's thinking on the future of home energy, and build the external commercial partnership ecosystem that brings these to life.
Mōu | About you
We're looking for a customer-obsessed leader who turns research and evidence into direction, with the rigour to build insight capability and the commercial judgement to shape what's worth pursuing - comfortable with ambiguity and a bias to action. You'll bring:
- 10+ years' experience in customer insights, research, innovation or commercial partnerships, including capability-building and methodology ownership.
- Proven research design across quantitative and qualitative approaches.
- Innovation pipeline management and overseeing the Consumer Retail roadmap.
- The ability to turn insight into recommendations that shape proposition, portfolio and commercial decisions.
- Strong influence across teams, with the confidence to challenge thinking and bring ideas forward.
- External partnership management across research agencies, suppliers and commercial partners would be an advantage.
- Experience in consumer retail, utilities, telco, financial services, insurance or research consultancy would be highly valuable, with exposure to home energy, smart home or future energy models an advantage.
