We're looking for a Head of Lifecycle Marketing to lead the strategy that deepens our customer relationships and drives long-term commercial growth. This is a senior leadership role working closely with the GM Brand & Marketing, responsible for Mercury's customer growth marketing strategy across lifecycle, owned channels, personalisation, and go-to-market integration. You'll lead a team of circa 10 marketers and own the end-to-end customer marketing ecosystem — from onboarding and in-life engagement through to retention, rewards, and digital performance. Reporting directly to the GM Brand & Marketing, you will act as a trusted advisor to the wider business, guiding initiatives that drive measurable, customer and business outcomes.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
- Owning and leading Mercury's integrated customer lifecycle marketing strategy across a portfolio of products, segments, and customer touchpoints — driving retention, engagement, and long-term customer value
- Leading onboarding, in-life engagement, retention and rewards programmes that reduce churn, grow loyalty, and increase cross-sell and upsell across Mercury's product portfolio
- Overseeing digital marketing performance across lifecycle touchpoints, driving a test-and-learn culture and ensuring campaigns are optimised for conversion, engagement, and ROI
- Translating customer data and commercial priorities into targeted, personalised marketing programmes — partnering with data, CX, and technology teams to evolve Mercury's decisioning and automation capability
- Ensuring all lifecycle and customer communications are consistent, on-brand, and integrated with Mercury's broader brand purpose and GTM strategy
- Leading, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team of circa 10 marketers, building capability in data-driven marketing, personalisation, and customer experience design
- Managing agency and partner relationships, overseeing an Opex budget and demonstrating clear return on marketing investment
Mōu | About you
We are looking for a strategic marketing leader who thrives on measurable outcomes, continuous learning, and empowering teams. If you're ready to make a tangible impact on our brand and customer experience.
- 15+ years in marketing, with at least 8 years in senior lifecycle, CRM, or customer marketing leadership roles.
- Experience working in complex, competitive, consumer-led organisations, ideally in utilities, telecommunications, financial services, or consumer retail industries.
- Proven track record in leading marketing programmes and teams and engaging stakeholders at senior levels.
- Deep understanding of all marketing facets: brand, lifecycle, product, campaign planning, digital, content, and performance optimization.
- Creative ambition and a sharp digital eye — you understand how data-driven strategy and compelling creative work together to cut through and stand out.
- Business acumen and a commercial mindset, with the ability to align marketing with financial and growth outcomes.
- A team player, focused on enterprise outcomes and doing right by the customer and the team.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and lead through complexity and ambiguity.
