Mō te Tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Financial Crime team, playing a key role in shaping and delivering technology that supports critical regulatory and risk initiatives. This role sits within the Customer Tribe, working across squads to enable automation, uplift controls, and strengthen our financial crime capabilities.
We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities:
- Lead technical design and delivery across financial crime initiatives, with a focus on CLM and KYC capabilities
- Provide expert consultation on software architecture, integration, and tooling
- Build reusable, scalable, and secure solutions using modern engineering practices
- Contribute to the evolution and optimisation of CLM/KYC frameworks and supporting platforms
- Promote modern engineering practices, including clean code, automation, and performance optimisation
- Mentor engineers and uplift squad capabilities
- Research and recommend new technologies aligned to ASB's strategic roadmap

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What will help me succeed?
- 14+ years of hands-on experience in building capabilities using Pega
- Certified Pega LSA, having led multiple Pega projects
- Working experience in Pega Cloud or good understanding of cloud architecture
- Hands-on experience with Pega Constellation, including modern UI development using view templates, widgets, and DX APIs.
- Deep expertise in Pega CLM/KYC Framework, including case types, workflows, data models, integrations, and UI components.
- In-depth understanding of CLM standards and alignment with out-of-the-box framework capabilities
- Experience with Pega Infinity (24.x or later), adhering to Pega guardrails and enterprise development standards.
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices, with a focus on secure, compliant, and automated delivery pipelines
- Proven ability to analyse, design, develop, and deploy enterprise applications in an Agile way of working
- Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor engineers, promoting best practices and capability uplift.
- Ability to apply industry best practices and influence adoption across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration and engagement.
- RDBMS and NoSQL database design
- Working experience in regulatory/compliance projects
- Experience using knowledge of tech stacks to solve business problems
- Confidence to apply and communicate industry best practices
- Certified or experienced in Agile methods
- Analysis, design, development, and application deployment of large-scale enterprise application systems in an Agile way of working
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI and advanced cloud-native engineering solutions
