The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
We have a 3 year fixed-term, full-time position for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, providing an excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate to make a substantial impact and advance their career in teaching, research, and service.
We are open to expertise across areas relevant to our Industrial Design, and are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to our teaching and research in our Industrial Design Major.
We embrace practice-led, research-informed approaches to teaching. Your contributions to programme and course development will support our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. You will instruct across various programmes as delegated by the Head of Industrial Design and should demonstrate proficiency in utilising digital resources to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, you will actively publish within your specialised field(s). We provide an exceptional research environment equipped with contestable research funds, with mentorship available from senior scholars. It is also anticipated that, in due course, the successful candidate will endeavour to secure and attract external research funding, engage with government agencies, businesses, professional bodies, and the community, and participate in activities organised by the School and Faculty.

Criteria
- A PhD in Industrial Design (or a related field).
- An early career academic will ideally have at least some previous teaching assistant experience.
- More experienced candidates will have previous lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development and preferably experience supervising Masters and/or PhD students.
- An early career academic will have the basis of a solid research pipeline and a job market paper available.
- More experienced candidates will already have a more established research programme and a proven research track record with quality publications and ideally also success in external funding bids).
