Senior Bridge/Civil Structures - Engineer

BG&E is seeking a Senior Bridge/Civil Structures Engineer to join our growing Auckland team and connect with our global network of over 350 bridge specialists. In this role, you will deliver diverse road and transport projects from concept through to construction, while collaborating with a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
- Develop pragmatic civil structure and bridge designs, undertaking complex computations from concept to construction.
- Partner with clients, project teams, and external stakeholders to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with drafters on construction documents, manage project elements, and conduct site inspections.
- Participate in interdisciplinary workshops, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with corporate and legislative standards.
About You
You are a driven, Chartered Engineer with strong technical skills and a creative approach to design.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 8 years of total experience, including at least 4 years of local New Zealand experience.
- Proven background in bridge engineering design (emphasis on road transport). Experience with rail structures and local council bridges is essential.
- Proficient with industry software (e.g., SBD, Midas, Strand7) and experienced in bridge inspections, assessments, and strengthening schemes.
- Relevant engineering qualifications and CPEng (NZ) status.
- Experience with NZTA, temporary works, water structures, or Australian bridge design standards.
