Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced business banking professional who is passionate about helping local businesses achieve their financial goals. In this role, you’ll work closely with business customers to understand their goals, provide tailored banking solutions, and help unlock opportunities for growth across their business.

What does a day in the life of a Business Partner look like?

  • New and existing client meetings in the office or off-site in their business.
  • Proactively developing relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Growing relationships with local professionals and referral networks.
  • Undertaking Business Development activities in your local market and attending relevant events.
  • Working through funding requirements to help our customers grow.
  • Collaborating with a great team to support our customers goals.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

This role will suit someone who is commercially minded, naturally curious, and confident building meaningful relationships in the local business community. You’ll bring strong business acumen, a proactive approach to business development, and the ability to connect customers with the right people, insights, and solutions. An established professional network would be valuable, but we’re equally interested in someone who has a proven ability to build credibility, grow connections, and identify new opportunities. You will bring:

  • A proven track record in financial services, ideally with experience supporting business banking customers.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and create value for customers.
  • A proactive approach to networking, business development, and identifying new opportunities.
  • The ability to manage complex customer relationships while working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products, markets, and industry trends.
