About this Position

Road safety depends on more than technology - it depends on the people behind it. As NOC Manager, you will lead the team that keeps Acusensus’s Network Operations Centre running 24/7 across Auckland and Christchurch, ensuring our road safety solutions deliver reliably against our contractual commitments to NZTA.

This is a genuine people leadership role with real functional accountability. You will own the culture, performance, and capability of a distributed operational team - and you will be the primary point of accountability for NOC delivery to our client. If you’re a proven people manager who thrives in complex operational environments and takes genuine ownership of outcomes, this role was built for someone like you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the NOC team across Auckland and Christchurch - owning hiring, onboarding, performance management, and team structure.
  • Design and implement the NOC’s performance measurement framework: KPIs, service standards, and structured reporting to senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for NOC delivery against NZTA contractual obligations - attending governance meetings, owning SLA reporting, and managing client escalations.
  • Develop and manage the NOC function’s budget, including resource forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Proactively diagnose and resolve culture, conduct, and performance issues - designing interventions that create lasting change, not just short-term fixes.
  • Embed a genuine safety culture and ensure the NOC meets its obligations under ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO 14001.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience leading teams, with a demonstrable track record of building high-performing, culturally aligned teams - particularly where culture has required active investment.
  • Proven success leading geographically distributed teams across multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience managing performance and disciplinary processes end-to-end, in partnership with HR/People & Culture.
  • Experience representing a team or function in external client or stakeholder relationships, including SLA governance and contract performance reviews.
  • Comfortable with budget management and resource planning at a functional level.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Auckland and Christchurch, and to be available outside standard hours for escalations.

Desirable

  • Experience working in or alongside a NOC, operations centre, control room, or equivalent 24/7 technology-enabled environment.
  • Familiarity with regulated operational environments - road safety, transport, infrastructure, or similar.
  • Understanding of ITIL or equivalent service management frameworks.

Benefits

  • Make a tangible difference - Acusensus technology saves lives on New Zealand’s roads, and this role sits at the heart of delivering that mission.
  • Lead with genuine authority - you will own the people agenda, performance framework, and client relationship for a critical operational function.
  • Join a growing global company where capable leaders are given the space to lead and the support to succeed.
  • Competitive salary package commensurate with experience, plus KiwiSaver contributions.
