About the role
The Supply Planner will be responsible for the planning and management of inventory levels that is effective in meeting customer service levels, considering overall supply chain efficiencies and working capital targets. Be required to work with internal & external stakeholders to ensure timely availability of inventory for manufactured and imported/locally traded finished goods to meet customer demand nationally and to support the Supply Planning Manager in monitoring performance of the relevant key performance indicators and developing action plans with key parties to ensure performance targets are met.

Reporting to : Supply Chain Manager
Key responsibilities
- Acting 2IC for the Supply Chain Manager.
- Provide and lead OTIF discussions and improvement on service e.g., reasons for OTIF failure and root cause analysis.
- Inventory and/or Capacity Planning across the medium/long term planning horizon to meet customer demand (this can include promoting efficiencies in production scheduling activities for some) at least operating & inventory cost
- Active led participation in SOP process, via the Monthly Supply Review Meeting & supporting processes
- Managing customer & Supplier facing meetings – To discuss stock, potential supply issues and collaborative ways of working.
- Supporting Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Customers/Suppliers
- Ensure system tools and data are fully utilized to allow optimization of capacity planning & supply/inventory planning activities
- In conjunction with Supply Chain Manager conduct ongoing analysis of inventory and replenishment parameters to ensure improved working capital performance.
- Coordinate re-balancing of inventory where required
- Identification and reduction of stock at risk.
- Working with commercial as a key stakeholder.
- Ordering of materials & covering of other material controllers when on leave/sick/as business needs
- Inventory coverage, value, turn over
- Review and action on obsolete and slow-moving stock.
- Working with our finance partner on write off versus provisions.
- Performance to Production Plan
- Maintenance of order delivery dates in SAP against actual deliveries
Qualifications and skills
- Solid understanding of basic supply chain theory coupled with hands on inventory / materials planning experience
- Strong Analytical and Data management Experience
- Intermediate to Advanced ERP knowledge, SAP experience is essential
- Experienced in excel (Ability to do sumifs and iferrors)
- Must have a strong business understanding and insight
