Job Title: Student Counselor

The Student Counselor provides comprehensive counseling services to students, addressing their academic, personal, social, and career development needs. This role requires a skilled and compassionate individual who can create a supportive and confidential environment for students to explore their challenges and develop effective strategies for success.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting counseling sessions for students.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, and parents regarding student concerns and make referrals to appropriate resources, both on and off-campus.
  • Develop and implement outreach programs and workshops to promote student well-being and prevent mental health issues.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions.
  • Creating annual reports
  • Overshadowing and supervising junior psychologists
  • Planning the annual calendar
  • Overshadowing and planning workshops and events
  • Conducting workshops for students, faculty, and staff

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • BA/BSc in Psychology
  • Psychologist with 3-5 years’ experience in academic institutions needed for a part-time role.
  • Experience in providing counseling services to students in a higher education setting (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
