Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP and regulatory support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.
Te Tūranga – About the role
As our Regulatory Partnership Manager, you’ll lead how we partner with stores to strengthen regulatory outcomes across our network.
You’ll lead a team of Regulatory Partners to ensure risks are identified early, managed consistently, and escalated appropriately, while building systems, processes, and assurance mechanisms that lift performance across the co-operative.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape how regulatory insight, assurance, and coaching come together to support store success — while keeping accountability with stores for delivery and remediation.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Regulatory Partners to deliver consistent, high-quality support to stores
- Driving peer assurance and quality oversight, including structured reviews and coaching to lift capability
- Acting as an escalation point for complex regulatory issues and incidents across the network
- Managing store portfolios to ensure risk-based focus and sustainable workloads
- Owning and enhancing the Mystery Shopper Programme to drive regulatory insights and action Identifying systemic risks and contributing to continuous improvement across regulatory systems and practices

You’re a confident and pragmatic leader who thrives in complex, field-based environments and knows how to influence outcomes without stepping into delivery.
You’ll bring
- Proven experience leading teams in regulatory, risk, compliance, or operational partner environments
- Strong knowledge of retail regulatory compliance (e.g. food safety, restricted sales, recalls, supplier compliance)
- The ability to coach others to own outcomes and make sound risk-based decisions
- Confidence setting expectations, holding performance to account, and lifting capability through feedback
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence store leaders and senior stakeholders Strong judgement, organisation, and a continuous improvement mindset
