About the role

As an Electrical Fitter, you will join our Substation Services team to provide network repairs, maintenance and construction services for WEL’s network. The successful candidate will also support the reliability of network assets by providing asset inspection services to primarily substations, ringmains and transformers.

Duties

  • Substation equipment installations, and construction, maintenance and repair of the 11kV and 33kV network

  • Undertaking inspections, performing condition assessment and recording asset condition

  • Testing and commissioning electrical equipment

  • Cable testing and fault finding

  • Participate in a callout roster for 24hr fault response and repair

  • Liaising with the control centre, dispatch and operations staff, and other utilities/authorities

Skills and experience

  • Extensive technical knowledge and a current electrical registration

  • Experienced switching operator, would be an advantage

  • Ability and experience to work independently and unsupervised

  • Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to workplace health and safety
