We are seeking an outstanding Legal Support Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. Please note, experience in a legal environment is essential.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
In this varied role, you will play a key part in supporting the team to operate efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes across the organisation. Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake senior-level secretarial support to assist our lawyers
- Provide proactive support to lawyers and other authors
- Complete team-focused administrative tasks as required
- Build and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally
- Provide professional and proactive support, including calendar, email, and meeting management
- Work collaboratively within legal teams and across Christchurch City Council
- Support Christchurch City Council’s client relationships and business development through the use of the LEX software system
- Maintain matter management and client reporting processes for your team
- Produce high-quality documents within required timeframes
- Periodically assist with other tasks and projects within the Business Support team that are not legal-related

- Hours of work - Monday to Friday
- Position - Permanent, full-time
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
