A2Z Autodismantlers is a leading vehicle dismantling and auto recycling business based in Christchurch specialising in the purchase of salvage and accident-damaged vehicles, dismantling reusable parts, and exporting vehicle

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Yard Manager to oversee daily operations, logistics, and inventory management. Its full-time, permanent with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Yard Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the procurement, servicing and maintenance of company vehicles, forklifts, machinery and other yard equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, transport providers and overseas buyers to coordinate vehicle purchases, sales and export activities.
  • Planning and supervising the collection, transportation and delivery of salvage vehicles, dismantled parts and export shipments to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensuring vehicles, recycled parts and other inventory are stored, handled and transported safely to preserve their quality and value.
  • Coordinating logistics for the collection of purchased vehicles and the dispatch of dismantled parts and export consignments.
  • Maintaining accurate records of vehicle acquisitions, inventory, transport activities and operational performance, and preparing reports for management.
  • Ensuring all yard operations comply with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve yard operations, logistics, workflow and resource utilisation to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

To be Successful, You Will Have

At least two years of relevant work experience or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Business Management in automotive industry, Commerce, or a related field.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

The ability to manage multiple operational tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

A commitment to workplace health and safety and continuous improvement.

A full New Zealand driver's licence is preferred.
