The opportunity

We are looking for a compliance officer to join our compliance and monitoring team working across the Western Bay of Plenty. We are seeking someone who has a positive and confident approach and enjoys working with customers and businesses, and can put their skills into action across Western Bay.

We are looking for an organised self-disciplined team-player who understands legislation and the importance of compliance in a local environment.

To set you up for success, you’ll have

  • NZQA Regulatory Compliance Level 4 or similar.

  • Five to six years compliance or enforcement experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal process/ procedures and legislation, including the Summary Proceedings Act.

  • Demonstrated experience in investigative work, decision making and report writing.

  • Knowledge of local government legislation and statutory requirements relevant to the position.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
