Gurit, a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced composite materials, is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Auckland, New Zealand. Engineering is part of the Marine & Industrial Business Unit of the Gurit Group with some 25 engineers working in our facilities in UK, France & New Zealand

Purpose of the Role

The role will involve carrying out composite structural engineering on a wide range of projects using analytical and design skills, in collaboration with a project team. You will plan and manage engineering projects as well as working with customers and end users to ensure deliverables meet customer requirements.

  • Key Responsibi l ities
  • Conceptual structural design, detailed design and analysis for composite engineering projects under the supervision of a more experienced engineer.
  • Planning, project management and client liaison on engineering projects under the supervision of a more experienced engineer.
  • Assist in the development of innovative and efficient engineering solutions and working methods.
  • Develop own technical capability and broaden engineering knowledge across different markets.
  • Develop project, commercial and personnel management skills.
  • Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, with emphasis on Structural Analysis and Design and Material Science.
  • Professional Experience of 2/3 years in either a design office or a composite manufacturing firm ideally.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with structural composite materials and building methods.
  • Knowledge of 3-D CAD Packages (such as Rhino3D, SolidWorks or Siemens NX) and Finite Element Analysis advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, both speaking and writing skills - essential.
