About the opportunity

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst (Cyber Security) to join a major, fixed‑term programme of work focused on strengthening enterprise‑wide cyber security capability.

This programme spans seven concurrent workstreams and requires a BA who can step in quickly, operate with minimal direction, and bring clarity, structure, and cohesion across initiatives.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the programme remains aligned from a business perspective—connecting the dots between stakeholders, translating impacts, and ensuring what is being delivered actually works for the business.

While you will be supported by security architects and technical specialists, this is not a technical BA or systems role. Instead, this role is for someone who can operate at a senior, consultative level—partnering across the organisation, influencing outcomes, and guiding teams on how best to land cyber security changes in practice.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned BA contractor or senior consultant who enjoys parachuting into complex environments, working independently, and making a visible impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide end‑to‑end cohesion across 7 programme workstreams, ensuring alignment in approach, requirements, and outcomes

  • Engage with senior stakeholders across the business (including P&C, Risk, Operations, and Technology) to understand impacts and shape practical solutions

  • Lead independent facilitation of workshops and working sessions, driving clarity, decisions, and forward momentum

  • Translate cyber security objectives into clear, business‑focused requirements, processes, and controls

  • Act as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring requirements are understood, actionable, and aligned to delivery outcomes

  • Bring structure and insight to identity and access management, workforce access, platform and process impacts

  • Provide pragmatic guidance to delivery and technical teams, helping them interpret and apply business requirements effectively (without owning build or development)

  • Maintain open, transparent communication across stakeholders, ensuring risks, dependencies, and decisions are clearly understood

  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy

About you

You are a senior, highly credible Business Analyst—likely coming from a consulting or contract background—who is comfortable stepping into complex, evolving programmes and immediately adding value.

You naturally operate as a connector and translator, bringing together business and technology stakeholders and ensuring alignment without relying on formal authority.

You take a business‑first view, understanding how changes impact people, processes, and operating models—not just systems. At the same time, you understand how technology teams work and can guide them effectively without getting pulled into development detail.

You are confident working across multiple streams, challenging where needed, and driving outcomes independently.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in large‑scale IT or cyber security programmes

  • Background in consulting or contract roles, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and deliver outcomes

  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple simultaneous workstreams or programmes

  • Strong facilitation capability, with the ability to lead workshops and drive decisions without close supervision

  • Experience translating technical or cyber security concepts into business requirements and processes

  • Understanding of domains such as identity and access management, data protection, and information governance

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across senior business and technical audiences

  • A self‑directed, outcome‑focused approach—able to operate independently and keep momentum across a complex programme

  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
