We are seeking an inspiring Academic Staff Member – Electrical Trades, to join our trades team. This role reports directly to the Programme Delivery Manager and is tasked with the delivery of theory to electrical apprentices nationally. You will be part of a collaborative and experienced team of educators and practitioners, all committed to high-quality learning experiences.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
As an Academic Staff Member, you will:
- Teach and inspire by delivering engaging online learning using Open Distance Flexible Learning (ODFL) approaches, interactive technology, and best practice in online teaching.
- Support learners by providing academic guidance to ākonga during their apprenticeship training.
- Contribute to quality through feedback on course content and assessments to ensure relevance and high standards.
- Collaborate and connect with other academic staff, mentors and markers in a supportive team environment.
- Drive continuous improvement by sharing insights with Programme Delivery Managers to enhance programme delivery.
Ngā pūkenga mo te tūnga | What you will bring
- A relevant tertiary/trades qualification including a current Electrical Practicing Licence (EWRB)
- Ideally at least 3 years teaching experience
- Experience in the tertiary education sector
- Experience/interest in teaching distance students
- Experience of apprenticeship training within the electrical industry
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Standards, Guides, and Codes of Practice
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to build strong relationships with others and to works well in teams
- Strong digital capability, inclduing effective use of computer systems and AI tools to support work outcomes.
