Huize Limited is looking for a full-time Purchasing Manager to join our team in Wellington.

To be successful for this role, you need:

  • 2 years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification or a Bachelor in any discipline.
  • Long-term and full commitments are required

Key tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the procurement of aluminium windows, doors, fencing systems, sunrooms, glass products, hardware, and related building materials from overseas suppliers, primarily in China.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with international manufacturers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, supply agreements, payment terms, production schedules, and delivery arrangements to ensure cost-effective procurement and reliable supply.
  • Monitor product quality, manufacturing progress, shipment schedules, inventory levels, and supplier performance to ensure products meet company requirements.
  • Work closely with sales consultants, designers, installation teams, and management to ensure timely procurement and delivery of products for customer projects.
  • Prepare procurement reports, supplier performance evaluations, and purchasing forecasts, and contribute to strategic sourcing and supply chain planning.
  • Research and stay updated on New Zealand construction industry trends, customer preferences, competitor offerings, and market pricing.
  • Conduct cost, margin, freight, and profitability analysis to support purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and business growth.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers, product ranges, and sourcing opportunities to improve competitiveness and expand the company's product offerings.
  • Coordinate international shipping, customs clearance, and import compliance processes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods into New Zealand.
