About the job
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Wastewater Specialist to join our Christchurch team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll support field crews, drive performance, and help deliver high-quality outcomes across wastewater activities.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and supporting onsite teams in their day-to-day work
- Planning and coordinating projects to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard
- Monitoring progress, productivity, and quality across field operations
- Coaching and developing team members to build capability and confidence
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
What you’ll bring
- At least 5 years’ experience in the wastewater industry
- NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction & Maintenance) Level 4 or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of wastewater networks and maintenance practices
- Previous experience leading small teams (ideally in water, construction, or similar industries)
- Willingness to participate in an on-call/standby roster
- A strong commitment to health and safety, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Full Class 1 & 2 licences, with WTR endorsements (essential)
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
