IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community.

You will be supporting individuals with complex support needs. Part of what you do each day will be helping them to recognise and respond to emotional overwhelm and react safely to this. We are looking for someone physically active who has the resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours. Dealing with challenging behaviour can be tough, but with the right approach, we can make a difference, promote positive behaviours, and create a supportive environment for people to thrive. We are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

We would prefer someone who has previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.
