About the Role

Are you a Microsoft Identity and Security specialist ready to take ownership of a technically complex and high-impact programme? Our client is looking for a Tech Lead to drive the Desktop Conversion workstream across its final phases and get it across the line by 31 October in National Digital Workspace Programme

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You'll be responsible for driving the review, assessment, and decision-making across a three-phase desktop conversion process: DHB mailbox migration to Health NZ, guest account conversion to remove ongoing licensing cost, and migration to the national environment. You'll assess SSO application compatibility, own problem-solving, and work closely with a small team of BAs and a Project Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical review and decision-making across all three desktop conversion phases
• Assess SSO application compatibility through the guest account conversion process
• Own the Guest ID lifecycle and Entra ID conversion end-to-end
• Drive problem-solving and technical documentation across the workstream
• Maintain and improve PowerShell automation for identity provisioning and access reviews
• Ensure device compliance and application deployment across the hybrid environment

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including Guest ID lifecycle, cross-tenant access, and Conditional Access
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Cloud Apps
• Active Directory, Outlook, Intune/Entra device policy, and MDM/MAM
• SaaS authentication, identity federation, and SSO across cloud and on-premises environments
• Microsoft Purview - sensitivity labels, retention policies, and governance
• PIM and RBAC for secure identity management
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Health sector experience (benificial), familiarity with large-scale government or public sector environments is an advantage
