The Role
Reporting to senior commercial finance leadership, this role leads the commercial finance function across the NZ market with full P&L responsibility. Working in close partnership with the Managing Director and senior sales leadership, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy to deliver sales, profit and market share outcomes.
The role sits at the centre of the commercial decision-making process, partnering across sales, category, revenue growth management and controlling to drive performance, optimise investment and support growth initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading annual planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across sales, trade spend and investment
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to drive commercial decision-making, performance improvement and delivery of growth targets
- Owning trade spend management, ensuring robust control, ROI focus and alignment across teams
- Providing clear, insightful analysis on business performance, identifying risks and opportunities and driving corrective actions
- Supporting pricing, promotional strategy and revenue growth initiatives to maximise return
- Developing and embedding robust processes across planning, reporting and performance management in line with broader ANZ standards
- Driving financial discipline and improving understanding of key profitability levers across the sales organisation
- Leading, developing and mentoring a small finance team while fostering a high-performance culture
Ideal Candidate
You are CA/CPA qualified with significant experience in commercial finance, ideally within a large-scale FMCG or consumer business. You bring a strong understanding of trade spend, pricing and revenue growth management, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, leadership capability and the ability to translate financial insights into clear, actionable outcomes that drive business performance.
