Yangcheng Construction Ltd is a long-standing successful construction and property development business in Auckland with strong business growth forecasted. We are looking for 1 enthusiastic and energetic, hardworking individuals to join our team as full-time Construction Estimator. To be considered suitable for this position, you will have at least 2 years of relevant work experience or a relevant qualification at diploma level or above. Applicant must be willing to work at least 30 hours per week Monday to Friday.

What you will be doing:

  • Reviewing construction drawings, plans and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Calculating the quantities of materials, labour and equipment needed for construction projects.
  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender documents.
  • Requesting and comparing prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identifying factors that may affect project costs, such as materials, labour and site conditions.
  • Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and estimating reports.
  • Assisting with the pricing of project variations and additional works.
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain information for estimates.
  • Maintaining records of project costs, supplier pricing and estimating data.
  • Monitoring actual project costs and comparing them against estimates.
  • Preparing cost reports for management and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting project cost control and procurement activities.

Other attributes:

  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour requirements, and industry pricing practices.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • No criminal records
  • Priority will be given to NZ residents/ citizens.

Pay rate for successful applicant will be paid between $29.66 - $33.00 depending on skills and experience. Minimum 30 hours of work per week is guaranteed.
