The Product Manager Assessment role sits in the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme which is a key unit within Te Poutahu Curriculum Centre. The Programme works in partnership with other Te Poutahu business units to enable the products and outcomes delivered from these projects to move into the business for ongoing delivery, maintenance, and support.

As a Product Manager, Assessment you will ensure teams can deliver high-quality products by:

  • Understanding the curriculum design vision and using it to lead teams toward consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Being the organisational glue that enables coherence across subjects, teams, and leaders.
  • Operating both downstream (supporting teams) and upstream (informing strategy), ensuring that decisions and delivery remain tightly connected.

About you | Mohou ake

  • Experience in a complex organisation.
  • Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Experience working in programme/project environments.
  • In-depth experience in at least one of the 8 learning areas as per the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) or Te Matauranga o Aotearoa, and a general understanding of the curriculum.
  • Expertise in senior secondary curriculum aligned assessment design
  • Knowledge of contemporary research in the area of assessment
  • A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

You will join a strong team of experienced educators and skilled project managers in the Phase 5 Subjects Programme which sits within the CACP (Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme). We have high trust and encourage agency for all and care for staff. The team is working at pace and with an exciting project to deliver for secondary schools.

About our group and team | Matau ropu ake

The Phase 5 Assessment team works collaboratively with other kaimahi and is responsible for assisting in the design and building of the requirements for New Zealand Curriculum. This will be used as the base to develop all Curriculum products required within the Programme.

The Phase 5 Assessment team is made up of highly experienced education professionals with a range of specialisms. The working environment is hybrid with the opportunity to work from home twice a week.
