Te Tūranga – About The Role
This is a senior, high-impact role at the heart of our Co-op’s financial stewardship.
As a Senior Commercial Finance Partner, you’ll lead treasury and membership funding activities, balancing strategic oversight of capital, liquidity, and risk with commercial partnership to support store ownership and growth.
You’ll support and report to the Head of Treasury & Member Funding.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead treasury activities across cash flow, liquidity, funding strategy, and financial risk management
- Partner with store owners (i.e. “Members”), banking partners, and external advisors to design and deliver funding solutions across the ownership lifecycle
- Provide strategic advice on capital structure, lending, and funding decisions to protect and optimise the Co-op’s balance sheet
- Assess and support investment decisions, financing proposals, and business cases
- Drive continuous improvement in treasury frameworks, controls, governance, and reporting
- Contribute as a senior member of the Treasury & Member Funding team, including coaching and supporting others
This role blends deep technical treasury expertise with commercial influence and plays a critical role in safeguarding and enhancing the long-term financial strength of our Co-operative.

He Kōrero Mōu - About You
You’re a senior finance professional with deep treasury expertise and the ability to operate confidently at both a strategic and hands-on level.
- Significant experience in treasury, corporate finance, banking, or funding environments
- Strong understanding of capital structure, liquidity management, debt funding and treasury risk management.
- Proven experience working with external stakeholders such as banks, advisors, or investors
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capability
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- FMCG and SAP experience desirable
