Tō tūranga hou | Your new role
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving a strong safety-first culture across all operations. This is a fly-in, fly-out position (2 weeks on / 1 week off), primarily based in the North Island, with travel required across multiple sites throughout New Zealand.
You will spend significant time out on site - including remote locations - working closely with operational teams to embed best-practice safety standards, influence behaviours, and proactively manage risk. Your ability to build relationships, gain respect, and engage with people at all levels will be key to your success.
Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in Health & Safety leadership within mining, heavy construction, or similar high-risk industries
- Strong on-the-ground presence and willingness to work in remote and site-based environments
- Ability to influence, engage and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders
- Resilience and a thick-skinned approach, with the confidence to navigate challenging environments
- A genuine passion for creating safer workplaces and continuously improving safety outcomes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (preferred)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
