The role: New Business Representative

If you have a natural competitive streak and like to create your own action - this could be the role for you to build your sales career!

OfficeMax has strong brand recognition across the motu, but we sell thousands more products and solutions than what people assume. In this phone-based sales role you will be on the hunt to create opportunities - for you and for OfficeMax.

Ring potential business customers and educate them on how OfficeMax can help their workplaces. Instead of going down to the supermarket for a weekly shop, you can save their time and money if they ordered everything through us instead.

Whether its coffee or toilet paper or safety equipment to branding, furniture or technology - we literally have thousands of different products to help customers. Call and make contact to understand their business needs, and then help create more efficiencies in their workplace - while you sell!

Action equals reward!! Reporting to our National Sales Manager - New Business, you will be joining a supportive team who are there to help and guide you as you learn the ropes and make the role your own.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect, identify, and win new B2B customers (you MUST be comfortable cold calling)
  • Ensure a high quality customer experience throughout the sales process, having a full understanding of the OfficeMax solutions and sales offer
  • Proactively generate and develop leads
  • Capture new opportunities through upselling, cross-selling and prospecting
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of new opportunities to consistently achieve sales and GP targets
  • Ensure all pipeline and customer information and activity is up to date in our CRM

What You Will Bring

  • New Business Sales experience is preferred
  • Successful record of gaining new business and customers, and consistent achievement of sales targets
  • Experience strategically planning your day
  • Demonstrated experience in customer negotiations
  • Track record of working in matrix team structures
  • Previous experience using ERP and CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, Pronto and Seismic
  • Engaging and adaptable interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
