Our People, Capability and Culture team is looking for a Kaituitui, Mana Tāngata | HR Coordinator to provide the HR Advisory team with high-quality day-to-day administrative support. The HR Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects, building and applying knowledge of key employment legislation and best practice HR.
The People, Capability and Culture directorate, which is part of the Governance and Corporate puni, develops strategic initiatives and delivers advice, policies and procedures to ensure Te Puni Kōkiri has the organisation, culture, and capability to deliver its strategy and the Government’s priorities.
The Governance and Corporate puni promotes high quality decision making, integrity, resource allocation, and risk management. It connects Ministers and the Ministry, monitors statutory entities, and drives consistent Crown practice in Treaty settlement commitments.
Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity
The HR Coordinator reports to one of two Principal HR Advisors. You will proactively consider the coordination and administrative needs of the HR Advisory team and work with the team to ensure they are supported to focus on core business. You will be responsible for monitoring a busy AskHR mailbox, managing and monitoring approvals for HR workflows, drafting letters to vary terms and conditions of employment and maintaining and updating documents and files. You will proactively look for opportunities to improve systems and processes, to bring efficiency to the work of the team.
The likely appointment range is $60,483 - $67,203, based on skills and experience. The mid-point is $67,203 per annum.

Mōu | About you
You will have relevant experience in a similar administrative role, or a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline. A good eye for detail and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to understand an organisation’s structure and HR policies and procedures. You will be part of an experienced team, with exposure to the full range of HR services so this is an opportunity to build your skills and capability.
