As a PM at the Council, you have the unique position of leading the project from inception, responsibilities include;
- Leading the scoping of risk, budgeting and programming
- Coordinating the design process, prioritising safety and quality
- Managing tenders, appointing consultants and contractors and managing their performance
- Tracking project progress, ensuring key milestones are met and providing regular reporting.
When the project is complete, you'll be there at the end to hand the asset over to the team that will run it.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Be an experienced civil engineering professional, with a proven track record of leading projects from early stages through to completion
- Bring hands-on experience delivering transport capital projects within a local government environment
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess project risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies
- Be a natural relationship builder who enjoys leading and developing teams, and confidently engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
- Have extensive experience in stakeholder management, including working with the public, community groups, community boards, mana whenua, and government agencies such as NZTA and KiwiRail
- Be skilled in working with elected members, including preparing high-quality reports, delivering presentations, and engaging with community boards and councils
- Have proven experience writing formal local government decision reports and presenting these clearly and effectively to both community boards and council

- Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
- Position - Permanent, full-time
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $126,230 to $140,255 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
