NZ International Tax & Property Advisors ( NZTP), a reputable boutique accounting firm specialising in international tax and property tax, is seeking an experienced Tax/BAS senior to join our team. About the role

The role will suit someone who enjoys a team-orientated work environment but can also work autonomously. You will work with a variety of clients, ranging from high net worth individuals to property development companies. We are open to part time or full time position. Although employee arrangement is preferred, we are open to considering contractor arrangement for the right candidate.

In this role you will be

  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns/financial statements for a range of entities
  • Undertake research and provide advice in respect of international tax issues, including double tax agreement, foreign investment funds and controlled foreign companies.
  • Preparing and reviewing returns for GST, PAYE and other tax types.
  • Preparing and reviewing voluntary disclosure letters.
  • Preparing and reviewing written tax advice for clients on a range of tax issues.
  • Participate and lead in monthly tax training.
  • Assist with developing and testing property tax software.

S kills and experience needed

  • Degree in an Accounting or related discipline (an LLB, MTAXS or degree related to NZ tax would be an additional benefit)
  • A Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a NZ tax role in a reputable firm (big four or mid-tier would be a plus)
  • Strong skills in Excel and Xero (AI would be a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, flexible and innovative approach to complex problem-solving
  • Great attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Responsive, efficient and able to identify any value-added opportunities.
  • Energetic, pro-active and “can-do” attitude.
  • Passion for tax and accounting and awareness of tax law changes
