We’re looking for a senior finance leader to join Briscoe Group, an NZX Listed company, as our Finance Manager - a key leadership role within our finance team and the 2IC to the Head of Finance.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role with broad responsibility across financial reporting, planning, compliance, audit readiness, climate-related reporting, sustainability oversight, process improvement and team leadership.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Finance, CFO, senior leaders and operational teams, bringing technical strength, commercial insight and sound judgement to support strong decision-making, governance and performance across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as trusted 2IC to the Head of Finance, providing leadership, support and continuity across Finance team
• Lead, coach and support the Finance team to deliver quality outcomes and build capability
• Oversee accurate and timely monthly, interim and annual reporting
• Support statutory, NZX, IFRS, audit and governance reporting requirements
• Lead climate-related reporting and sustainability oversight, including risk assessment, disclosures and Board/Audit & Risk Committee materials
• Partner with senior leaders and operational teams on budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and decision support
• Provide clear financial insight, technical accounting advice and practical commercial recommendations
• Drive improvements across Finance processes, systems and controls to reduce risk and improve efficiency
• Support audit readiness, treasury and insurance activities as required

Must-haves

What You’ll Bring

• CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification
• Strong financial reporting, technical accounting and IFRS knowledge
• Senior finance experience across reporting, accounting, commercial finance or business partnering
• Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching and developing others
• Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing across the business
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• A practical improvement mindset, with experience strengthening processes, controls or reporting
• Experience supporting audit processes and working with external auditors or advisors

Highly Regarded

• Listed company, large corporate or retail experience
• Exposure to NZX reporting requirements
• Climate-related disclosure or sustainability reporting experience
• Professional services experience
