About the opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated Accountant to join our friendly and supportive team, however, for the right candidates we'd be open to taking more than one. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least one year of accounting experience and is ready for more variety, responsibility, and development. You’ll be supported to build your technical skills while contributing to meaningful client work across compliance, reporting, tax, and business support.
This is a permanent full‑time role, (37.5 hours per week, across Monday to Friday), based out of our New Plymouth office. However, we are open to flexibility for the right person.
The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 per annum. Remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
What you’ll be doing
Preparing Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns and GST for a range of clients
Liaising with our clients to uncover their business’s needs– specifically their financial needs and goals
Consulting with a range of different client structures
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Preparing year end accounts
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who is naturally curious, detail-focused, and eager to keep improving. Ideally, you’ll have:
At least two years of experience in accounting, business advisory, finance, or a similar role.
A relevant accounting qualification.
An interest in progressing toward CA or CAANZ study, if not already underway.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.
Clear communication skills and a client-focused approach.
Confidence using systems such as Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms.
Are passionate about supporting clients to achieve the best from their business
Have a work ethic that prioritises quality, efficiency, and professionalism
