COMS Systems is a growing technology company specialising in biometric and camera-based systems. They design and deliver end-to-end solutions that automate manual processes for the gaming and hospitality industries.

Their products span Facial Recognition, Core Gaming Solutions, Cash Management, and Room Sweeping Apps - supporting operational efficiency while improving security, compliance, and harm minimisation.

Behind the tech is a highly experienced, in-house team of Designers and Engineers, led by Directors with 20+ years’ industry experience. Known for reliability and customer focus, COMS is in a strong growth phase.

About the role

This is a hands-on, on-the-road role where you’ll solve real problems in real time.

You’ll install, configure, and maintain hardware systems on-site, while acting as a trusted point of contact for customers.

Travel is a key part of the role, with regular movement across New Zealand and occasional overseas trips.

What you’ll be doing

  • Install and set up cameras and related hardware

  • Configure and test systems to ensure performance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment

  • Support integration with networks and databases

  • Train customers and provide ongoing technical support

  • Build strong customer relationships and manage queries

  • Manage stock and coordinate with the wider team

  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting

What you’ll bring

  • Trade qualification in electronics, CCTV, telecommunications, or IT

  • CCNA (or similar) highly preferred

  • Ability to configure networks (IP addressing, subnets, camera integration)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-focused with the ability to build rapport

  • Solid literacy and numeracy skills

  • Flexibility to travel (approx. 50%)

  • Full driver’s licence
