Are you a Mechanical or Hydraulics Engineer looking for your next challenge and a lifestyle change? We are working with a well-established and growing building services consultancy seeking a talented engineer to join their Christchurch-based team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Wellington-based professional considering relocation, offering exposure to a diverse range of projects and a supportive, collaborative environment. Relocation support will be provided; a transition period can be included if you can't get to Christchurch straight away.
About the Role
In this role, you will be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical and hydraulic building services solutions across a variety of projects. You will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to produce high-quality technical outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing mechanical and hydraulic systems in line with relevant standards and project requirements
- Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Supporting project delivery to meet quality, cost, and programme targets
- Conducting building services surveys and contributing to design reviews
- Providing value engineering solutions to improve performance and efficiency
- Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
- Assisting in mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work
About You
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experienced in building services design (mechanical and/or hydraulic)
- Detail-oriented with strong technical documentation skills
- A proactive team player with excellent communication skills
- Keen to contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
- Interested in relocating to Christchurch for lifestyle and career growth
